Dear
Sisters and Brothers,
Louisiana won the highest
percentage trophy at Multi-State in Vicksburg,
Congratulations to Magi No. 85 on the celebration of their 100th
Birthday. This was a very special occasion. Sister Linda Lamkin,
PGM, did an outstanding job on the history of the Chapter. This Chapter
was formed in 1911 and has survived all these years. Isn't that
wonderful?
August is going to be a very busy month with Texas Grand Chapter and the
continued Official Visits. Thanks to all of you for your constant support
and attendance at our Official Visits.
The Louisiana/Mississippi Friendship Exchange is in Ferriday, August 19th,
with Sister Joye Denny, PGM, as Chairman. Get
your tickets from Sister Fran Slay, PM, Grand Treasurer. Bring a tea cup and saucer to exchange
with a Sister or Brother of
August 31, 1818, was the birthday of Dr. Rob Morris, the founder of The Order
of the Eastern Star. Everyone should read about him in the front of your
Ritual. Quoting from the Ritual …"Dr. Morris was generous, tender
of heart and loving in disposition. He was happiest when sharing with others
that which the Lord had bestowed upon him."
Pack up and let's go to the
DDGM's will be collecting 10 gifts from each Chapter in their District for the
Distinguished Guests, Hospitality Room. We ask that these articles be
delivered on Saturday or Sunday prior to Grand Chapter or given to Lynn Palmer,
Grand Adah.
Please do not forget our trip to the
Keep Sister Mary and Brother Eldon Howell, PGM and PGP, in your prayers because
of their loss. Continually pray for all members of OES, their
families, our military, and our government.

All proceeds will go to the Grand Chapter Cancer Project. A ticket (Donation of $20.00) can be

a Cancer Survivor or Memorialize a Loved One, you may purchase a ready to plant

APPRECIATION:
Thank
you so much for your cards, phone calls, but most of all for the prayers
offered up on my behalf when I was in the hospital recently because of loss of
blood. I am feeling so much better now
and hope that I will be able to stay that way.
