From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:
Dear Sisters and Brothers:
“It’s the most wonderful time of
the year….with those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings, when friends
come to call…it’s the most wonderful time of the year!!” The music of the season brings us hope and
joy. I hope that each of you will have
a Christmas full of good cheer and happy memories.
What a marvelous trip we had to
General Grand Chapter in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We had 59 dedicated members attend. Congratulations to those who received appointments for the
“Choctaw” Triennium. They include: Jane
McDaniel, WGM–Choir Director; Jean Smith, PGM – Shriners Hospital; Audrey
Barker, PGM–Visionquest; Gwayne Denham, PGP–International Peace Garden; James
Premeaux, PGP–Membership and Faye McDowell, PM–Friends of a Feather.
The Fraternal Relations Day for
the Southern Section was well attended and lots of fun. We raised over $1350 for our Youth Groups
and enjoyed a great day of fraternal fellowship. A Special thanks for all those who made this day a great success.
We finished our trip around the
state with 3 Fabulous Official Visits.
The enthusiasm showed by the members across the state is
contagious. We are continuing to enjoy
Courtesy Visits and look forward to being with you at your Installations. Continue your good work in building our
Order as we move into the New Year.
May this season constantly
remind us of the “Star that we follow in the East.” Grandma always said
“Remember the Reason for the Season!!”
Remember to “Keep a Song in your Heart and a Smile on
your Face”
Fraternally,
Jane McDaniel

your calendars to attend. Remember that

ELECTION TIME REMINDER
Legislation
was adopted at last Grand Chapter Session regarding dual members holding
elected offices in two chapters. The
Grand Chapter General Regulations, Chapter Two, Article 16, Section 3(i) reads:
“A dual member may simultaneously hold office in a chapter of which she or he
is a primary or dual member, provided, that she or he shall not simultaneously
serve as Worthy Matron, Worthy Patron, Associate Matron, or Associate Patron in
more than one Chapter, nor hold more than one office in the same Chapter. A dual member may represent only one Chapter
at a Grand Chapter Session.”
APPRECIATIONS
Through the courtesy
of our Worthy Grand Matron, I would like to express my thanks and appreciation
for all courtesies extended to me at General Grand Chapter. I thank all members
who contributed to the nice love gift. Special thanks to Sister Jane McDaniel,
WGM, for arranging the lovely lunch at The News Room. Congratulations to our
new appointed General Grand Chapter Appointments, Sisters Jean Smith, Audrey
Barker, Jane McDaniel, and Faye McDowell and Brothers Gwayne Denham and James
Premeaux. Remember Sisters and Brothers
it cost nothing to be nice and give a smile. Many people are hurting in this
world of turmoil. I thank you and love
you. Harles I. Creech, P.M.W.G.P. and
P.G.P. of Louisiana
Through
the courtesy of the Worthy Grand Matron, I would like to say how much I

Through
the courtesy of our Worthy Grand Matron, we would like to say thank you for the
many cards and prayers that have been sent our way. Please keep our daughter and her family in your prayers. Linda and Al Frazier
To all my sisters and
brothers of the Order Of The Eastern Star I want to say a great heartfelt thank
you for all the prayers, calls, cards, and all other means of concern you have
shown to us during the last two years when we had so much happening in our
family. It has been made a lot easier because you all cared so much! And now, I
want to personally thank you for the love you have shown me during my two
illnesses and subsequent surgeries in September and then again in November.
Even though the surgeries were both major, I am doing well and hopefully will
be back to my old self in the next few weeks. Each of you know just how much
you mean to me and I want you to know that I truly do appreciate all the
concern you have shown me. God will bless our beautiful Order abundantly
because of the kindnesses our members show to others. In O. E. S. Love, Kenneth
Cowart
We, the members of Thelma
