From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:

 

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

 

The year 2011 is coming to a close and we must remember to get our reports in to the District Chairperson and then on to the State Chairperson by December 31, 2011.  Elections are being held this month and there are deadlines that the Chapter Secretaries must get to the Grand Secretary.  The close of the year also means more work on our Grand Secretary, so be prompt and get these reports to her in a timely manner.

 

Please remember to pray for our OES Sisters and Brothers that are ill, have ill family members, and those that have lost family members. Keep in your prayers our OES members traveling to the Holy Land.  Do not forget our shut-ins and those in nursing homes.  Would they not enjoy a visit during the holidays?   Also remember our military on foreign soil.

 

The end of the year is the time to begin preparing for Grand Chapter.  Sister Jean Stafford, State Chairman of the "Purr"fect Personal Achievement Award, needs the names of those who have achieved the objectives by December 31, 2011.  Please forward the needed information to her at the following address:  718 Booth Drive, Shreveport, LA  71107.

Christmas is here and Jesus is the Reason for the Season!  Refresh your memory and read Luke 2. On behalf of the Grand Family, we wish you a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!  May it be filled with Faith, Hope, Joy, Love, Peace, and Prosperity.

NOTE: 

The deadline to receive proposed resolutions for the March, 2012 session by the Chairman of Law & Jurisprudence is January 1, 2012.  This will give the committee time to approve them for circulation.  The Grand Secretary must have the resolutions in proper form in her office by January 18th so that she might prepare them for the February newsletter.  Our current law states that all resolutions must be in the Grand Secretary’s office at least 60 days before our Grand Chapter session.  Should you need assistance, please contact a member of the Law & Jurisprudence Committee.

 

 

ELECTION OF OFFICERS: 

A plural member may simultaneously hold office in a chapter of which she or he is a primary or plural member, provided, that she or he shall not simultaneously serve as Worthy Matron, Worthy Patron, Associate Matron, or Associate Patron in more than one Chapter, nor hold more than one office in the same chapter.  A plural member may represent only one Chapter at a Grand Chapter Session. (Amended 2008)

 

 

APPRECIATION:

Through the courtesy of our Worthy Grand Matron, Ed and I would like to thank the wonderful and caring members of this state.  Throughout the last few months of my Mother’s earthly life, you placed her on prayer lists all over this state. The many calls of concern, the cards with wonderful words of faith and encouragement, memorials, and the beautiful flowers at her service are a constant reminder to us what great people belong to this Order.  You are truly the wind beneath MY wings.

OES RITUALS IN X-LARGE PRINT

General Grand Chapter may be offering a Ritual with much larger font printed on letter size pages. The larger Ritual would have the same information and page numbers as the small and large print rituals currently offered.  It would have a hard back cover like the current Rituals.  The cost would be approximately $40.00 each.  Please notify me as soon as possible if any of your members would be interested in purchasing this Ritual.

2012 Dues Cards have been mailed – if you did not receive your order; please let me know as soon as possible.  When issuing dues receipts be sure to note the proper titles on the card (WM, WP, AM, AP, PM, PP).

 

When obtaining address information on your members, please remember to ask for all nine zip code numbers (for example: 70174-0412).

 

As you are aware, printing is a large part of our budget, and it would be beneficial if you would consider sending $6.00 for the roster that you received.  (I have a few rosters left for those who may need them.)
