Dear Sisters and Brothers,
It's great to be back home! As promised, we did
pet the cuddly Kangaroo's and hugged the lovable Koala's for each of
you! All 18 of us thoroughly enjoyed attending the United Grand Chapter Session
of Australia and we were all welcomed with open arms, friendship and love.
Brother Roy, WGP, and I were extremely
honored to be the only out-of-country visitors invited to sit in the East for
the Session and for the beautiful Installation of the new United Grand Officers
and to bring greetings also.
I
understand the Schools of Instruction are being conducted and the Grand
Supervisors are being very well received.
This is such an important phase of our work and I am pleased that there has
been excellent attendance.
I
am happy to have been able to attend the Grand Chapter Session of South
Carolina. The celebration of their 100th
Birthday was extraordinary. I am excited to announce that we had 13 Louisiana
members present which was outstanding. We had two GGCCM's, one PGM and
five Grand Officers.
Attending
the Eight State Exchange Visit in Paragould, Arkansas was lots of fun and
enjoyed by all. We had a total of 53
members from Louisiana in attendance, including three General Grand Chapter Committee Members, eleven Past Grand's and eleven
Grand Officers, which made Brother Roy, WGP, and I extremely proud! The next
Eight State Exchange Visit will be held at the Shreveport Convention Center
and Hilton Hotel on July 18 & 19, 2008. The invitation extended, and
presented by Louisiana, was exceptional. Our own Brother James Premeaux, GCCCM,
came rowing out in his little pirogue from the bayou and Brother Guy Jenkins, PGP, drove in on his homemade Chevy – I
believe that's what he called it!
Sister Juanita Wilkinson, AGM, along with our Past Grand Matrons, Sisters
Elizabeth Roach and Linda Lamkin,
invited all to attend in 2008 and also handed out flyers with all pertinent
information. Mark your calendar now!
Brother Roy, WGP, and I hope to see everyone at the first Official Visit on July 7th. Special Reminder: Anyone attending all 20 Official Visits will receive a lovely Eastern Star trophy at Grand Chapter 2008!
Have
a wonderful 4th of July...
Star Love & Smiles

APPRECIATION:
Through the courtesy of the Worthy Grand Matron, Maurice and I wish to thank all of my Eastern Star Sisters and Brothers for their love and concern during my recent surgeries and rehabilitation. Your cards, phone calls, e-mails, and prayers were greatly appreciated. The experience has been less dreadful than I anticipated and I feel that I will be able to tolerate the second shoulder in the future in a more positive
state of mind. Just remember if you decide to fly with me, my new bionic appliances will set off all the bells and whistles at the airport. That should be fun! Again, your prayers made the difference. God always keeps His promises, Anita Fields-Gold, PGM
Through the courtesy of our Worthy Grand Matron, I would like to thank you, my sisters and brothers, for the many cards, calls, and especially, your prayers in my recent illness. With fraternal love, Joy Beth Williams.
