From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

It has been a very busy month for the District Deputies. They have started their visits and from what I hear they are really enjoying each visit.

The next step will be in May when we start our Schools of Instructions. We have a Work and Ritual Committee whose Chairman is Sister Alna Abbott. The Grand Supervisors have received instructions on how the signs and passes and gestures to be given. If there is any question on the correct way to give these, please contact one of them. Please remember, if there are corrections, they are the ones to make them.

We had a great time in Jefferson, Texas at our exchange visit and there were more than 27 from Louisiana in attendance. We then went on to Mississippi Grand Chapter and there were more than 25 present. Thank you for supporting our Grand Chapter by attending these events.

I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to the members of District 17 for the beautiful reception. Sister Laura Wall, PGM, and her committee did a wonderful job. The decorations were so beautiful, and the food was great! Thank you again for everything.

Our Official Visits will start in June so I look forward to seeing many of you at our first visit in Shreveport.

Remember always keep a smile on your face, a prayer in your heart, and greet all with a warm hug.

                                                                                                Star Love,

                                                                                                Myra Ramsey

APPRECIATION

INTERNATIONAL HEADQUARTERS SPECIAL PROJECTS FUND

With permission of the Worthy Grand Matron, I wish to report that the delegates at the ECHO'S OF THE CENTURIES Grand Chapter session donated $172.80 to the International Headquarters Special Projects Fund.  This is an "awesome" amount of pocket change and we, your General Grand Chapter Committee on the International Headquarters, are most grateful. I am requesting that all OES households in Louisiana set up some type of container and collect your loose pocket change in it for the next nine months. Then roll the coins and either give them or a check in that amount to your Chapter secretary for forwarding to the Louisiana Grand Secretary to enable your Chapter to obtain credit for the donations. The money collected through the CHANGE FOR CHANGE special projects fund will be used to either update electronic communications in the headquarters or some equally pressing need as determined by the Right Worthy Grand Trustees and the Most Worthy Grand Matron. Please remember that the International Headquarters is your OES home and connection with world-wide OES members. The mansion will
soon be 101 years old and requires upkeep just as your personal homes require. Remember that this is one of our own Beloved Order's projects.   Anita Fields-Gold, GGCCM

I greatly missed attending Grand Chapter this year and would like express my appreciation for the prayers offered up on behalf of my husband, Eugene.  Because of your generous prayers, the room in ICU became available just at the right time, after waiting in the ER for 12 hours.  He stopped bleeding just at the right time and the expertise of the doctor and nurses were performed just at the right time.  Do you realize just how close you are to God in your prayer life because HE is always right on time?  Thanks again, Dianne Sutton, PM, ESTARL Board.
