September 2006 Newsletter

From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Grandma used to say “If you keep busy, time will fly by” and my how she was right.  The month of August has blazed by, but with great accomplishments.  We have been on the road extending the hand of friendship to Amaranth, DeMolay, and Texas Grand Chapter.  We have enjoyed being a part of the 50th Anniversary of Broadmoor Chapter No. 233 and the 100th Birthday of Pinehurst No. 33.  We witnessed history in the making, as the Grand Lodge broke ground for its new facility.  We’ve enjoyed four Official Visits and four Courtesy Visits.  With all of that, September looks to be even more exciting.  Please plan to join us as often as you can.

As we travel, we are hearing great reports of your participation in our designated projects.

The variety of community service projects is a tribute to each of you, as you reach out and show the loving kindness of Eastern Star.  Many of you have already reached your chapters goals and are now going Above and Beyond.  I encourage you to continue to be the Best that you can Be.

Our membership drive is hearing great reports.  Remember, that the only way you can get a New member is to “ASK,” and the only way you can reactivate an Old member is to “ASK.” So Keep Asking!!

Don’t Give Up!! Keep the Faith!! I heard a recent speaker say “Where there is no faith in the future, there is no power in the present. “  Membership is everyone’s responsibility.  Take the challenge.

Bring in a new member.  Adopt the Motto – “If it’s going to be, it’s up to me.”

Remember to “Keep a song in your heart and a smile on your face”

                                                                                Fraternally,

                                                                                Jane McDaniel

                                                                                Worthy Grand Matron

When you find a dream inside your heart

Don’t ever let it go.

For dreams are the tiny seeds

From which tomorrows grow.
