From the Desk of the Worthy Grand Matron:
Dear
Sisters and Brothers,
All of the Louisiana Eastern Stars who
attended the “Peace in His Kingdom” 127th Grand Chapter
of Texas Session in
The home of Sister Carol Presley, Grand Martha, was
damaged by fire. Sister Carol is in
need of our concern, love, and prayers.
Financial assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please send all love gifts to the Grand
Secretary, who will forward them to Sister Carol and your chapter can receive
credit for this gift.
Guess
Who? (Dear Worthy Grand Matron,
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!! Your appointment of me as
District ? Chairman of the Traveling Gavel has been such a wonderful
experience. I just felt I had to
let you know how much I have enjoyed and appreciated it. It has really
got the "troops" out visiting and getting to know one another.
The fun and fellowship have been overwhelming. The friendly
"competition" is almost comical. It has been a great
motivator. Thank you, again.)
Guess which District Chairman sent this to me. My personal thanks to all the chapters
who have participated in this project and have helped make it the success it
is. The response has been
overwhelming.

APPRECIATION
I wish to take this opportunity to thank
each of my sisters and brothers for all the love and best wishes extended to me
at Grand Chapter. It has been my honor and pleasure to have served you
for 17 years as Grand Treasurer.
Thank you for the beautiful tribute by my dear friend and co-worker,
Sister Terrie Castay. I appreciate the monetary gift and cherished the
beautiful flowers. "Old treasurers never die, they just fade away." I
will still be active in our beloved Order of the Eastern Star. I was very touched to be elected
Treasure Emeritus, thank each of you for this honor.
My love to
all: Alna W. Abbott, PGM,
Retired Treasurer
I
would like to thank everyone for the cards, calls and prayers during the time
of my rotator cuff surgery and recovery. I appreciate the kindness from each of
you. Star love, Juanita Wilkinson,

State Chairman
of Fraternal Relations, Michael M. Dupree, Sr, PP
We all worry about membership,
yet we often do little to promote peace and harmony between the groups or to
support each other. Let's work together not only to promote peace and harmony
between the groups, but also to support each other. By doing so, there is
a good chance our membership will begin to show an increase. Contact your
District Chairman of Fraternal Relations…she or he has ideas that may
work in your chapter Please work closely with them.
Some of my ideas are:
Inviting someone from another Masonic organization to speak in your chapter,
a joint communication with a sister chapter, joint picnics, inviting Demolay to
do a mothers day program, Rainbow Girls to do a Father’s day program or
they can create a program to fit your requirements, or a Chapter
cooking a meal and serving the meal to their sponsoring Blue Lodge before they
have their closed meeting–this meal could be open to the family
members. These are just some of my ideas but the experienced ones within
each chapter are valuable and can recommend such programs that will work
in your chapter. Please talk it over with members of your chapter
and try to promote Fraternal relations.
I want to thank the chapters that have
instituted these types of programs. Reports are that these programs
are very successful.
